Invitation To Participate In Practical Workplace Fire Prevention And Fighting Course On 12th -13th October 2017
Workplace fires are one of the foremost threats to the people and property of any organization. It is estimated that 45% of businesses never re-open after a fire incident. Such losses are avoidable by applying basic fire prevention controls and being prepared for emergencies. This course is aimed at equipping participants with knowledge, skills and confidence to prevent fires, appropriately respond to fire emergencies and use proper equipment & procedures to save lives and property.
Participants will participate in practical firefighting sessions for a hands-on experience with fire extinguishers and other fire fighting equipment.

About the course
AIM: The course is designed to raise awareness of fire hazards in the workplace and how to act safely in the event of an emergency fire situation, including selecting and using a fire extinguisher.
TARGET AUDIENCE:
HR staff, Safety & Health staff, production managers/supervisors, school caretakers & any other staff involved in safety issues
DURATION:
2 days
COURSE OUTCOMES:
  1. To provide participants with an understanding of fire safety within the workplace and the practical skills needed in the selection and use of fire extinguishers.
  2. To inform participants on the behaviour of fire and human responses in emergency situations.
  3. To ensure staff have sufficient knowledge to enable them to act confidently and effectively in a fire emergency situation.
  4. To provide flexible training that can be adapted to individual company needs and be undertaken at workplaces.

  2. Elements of Fire Chemistry/Chemistry of Combustion

  5. Fire Fighting: Practicum (demonstration in the use of foam and CO2 fire extinguishers using our state of the art gas fired training system)
