Employment or labour laws are the laws which govern labour and employment in Uganda. These for example include; the employment act of 2006, labour disputes arbitration and settlement act of 2006 and the labour unions act of 2006, occupational safety and health of 2006. How do you be at the safer side of labour laws in Uganda? First and foremost, formalize the employment relationship by giving contracts to employees. Among other things, have comprehensive terms and conditions of service. SImilarly, one needs to make consultation about the existing labour laws since they constantly change with time. Most importantly, do not take decisions out of emotions as an employer. Finally, ensure that you periodically practice and procedures at the workplace.
