On the 18th and 19th February 2019, FUE was ably represented by the Executive Director, Douglas Opio at the 2019 IOE-Business Africa Forum, hosted by the General Confederation of Enterprises of Algeria (CGEA) in Algiers.
The meeting provided a platform for young entrepreneurs, CEO’s, employers’ and international organizations to share their experiences, challenges and to explore opportunities available as well as possible solutions to dismantling the barriers to success.
The focus was on ‘Inspiring, nurturing and supporting Entrepreneurs’.
Some of the topics discussed were; the role of social dialogue and tripartism in employment policies, opportunities for young entrepreneurs in global supply chains, challenges and opportunities of women entrepreneurship in Africa, private sector initiatives to promote women and youth entrepreneurship, as well as attracting and retaining start-ups as new members of employer organisations which Our Executive Director gave insights on.
