In his speech, he noted that, it’s no secret that indeed the future of work lies in the hands of the Youth. In Uganda, the youths represent the biggest proportion of our population.
He further appreciated the role government has played in ensuring that safety and health is observed at all workplaces.
He also emphasized that worker participation is also essential in order to implement OSH solutions at an enterprise level effectively.
In his concluding remarks, he noted that the World Day for Safety and Health at Work is an important and appropriate occasion to reflect on the importance of occupational safety and health. It is an opportunity for us to reaffirm our commitment to this cause – to raise OSH standards. He urged Employers to have exemplary Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) performance to ensure the protection of all people affected by work activities.
