In a bid to promote youth employability at national level, we were delighted to participate in the Uganda Christian University (UCU) Career Fair. The fair was held on 13th July 2026 at the UCU Main Campus in Mukono, operating under the theme ‘Pathways to Purpose: Empowering Futures Through Career Discovery’. The event brings together students, alumni, faculty and industry leaders to bridge the education and employment gap.
During FUE’s presentation, we emphasised soft skills training, embracing new technology and participating in apprenticeship programs as key tenets to thrive in the evolving labour market. We had a stall that students had the opportunity to visit and engage with FUE staff on career guidance. Additionally, panel discussions, career mentorship, employer exhibitions, internship and recruitment opportunities were part of the event.
As an esteemed FUE member, we commend UCU for working with education and tertiary institutions to ensure young graduates match the demands of the world of work as they transition from school to work. We believe these engagements support in ensuring youth are prepared for work.
